About Us

Mass Media Foundation Trust is a registered charitable trust committed to transforming mainstream media and amplifying the voices of people for the past three years. The trust focuses on promoting citizen journalists from across Karnataka, with a special emphasis on marginalised communities. It aims to empower people’s voices through in-depth media research and public opinion-making. Over the past three years, the trust has been actively reshaping the media landscape and providing a platform for those whose voices need to be heard the most.

The long-term objective of the Mass Media Foundation is to promote and uphold democratic values in society and establish the media as the voice of the masses. This media network will incorporate diverse and innovative perspectives from youths, workers, Dalits, minorities, women, and other marginalised groups to create community and citizen journalists and distribute their work through people’s networks.

Mass Media Foundation (MMF) developed capacity-building programs, including training, workshops,

seminars, and knowledge-sharing meetings for local committee members. This participatory model will

empower them to become creators and communicators of content that raises awareness about societal and

community socio-economic development. Additionally, the foundation will invest in research to gain a deeper

understanding of community issues and to collect local narratives.

Vision

Empowering marginalised voices through media and education. Building a just and equitable India.

Our Impact

Mass Media Foundation Trust, with its years of dedicated work in the field of Media, is excited to share our Future Plans. Our efforts to empower citizens to become citizen journalists have already trained about 6,500 citizens, mostly youth, to use their smartphones to create news that matters to them. We are scaling it up to 25,000, aiming for almost one person per village in Karnataka. Our numerous workshops conducted in different districts have been instrumental in this journey, and we are committed to Enlarging the scale and spreading awareness about this Project in each district. We are hopeful and excited about the future of this Project.
